Assessments and Evaluations
I provide a variety of psychological assessments (also known as psychological testing or evaluations) for children, adolescents, and adults.
I am experienced with several different types of traditional psychological assessments – cognitive testing, psycho-educational testing, personality testing, and career testing.
Clients often seek psychological assessments to:
- Establish diagnoses (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD/ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, personality issues, thought disorders, etc.)
- Determine developmental delays, learning strengths, weaknesses, and needs
- Identify reasons for problems at school, including learning differences, Learning Disabilities, or Processing Disorders
- Test for intelligence or giftedness
- Assist in school placement
- Identify special accommodations for school or standardized testing (PSATs, SATs, GREs, MCATs, LSATs, etc.)
- Confirm a patient’s readiness for surgery (such as organ transplant, bariatric, cosmetic, or gastric bypass surgeries) or treatment for certain conditions (such as infertility)
- Learn about their emotional, personality, or relationship styles
- Understand themselves (their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships) more deeply
- Assist with Employment Disability determination
- Help them move forward when they are feeling “stuck”
- Develop goals when they start psychotherapy
- Assist with making career choices
- Meet requirements for international adoptions
I take a collaborative approach to working with assessment clients. We work together to develop goals for testing and to identify the questions that need to be answered. I continue to work with you throughout the assessment to reach your goals. Afterwards, I meet with you to review the test results, help you relate them to your original goals and questions for the assessment, assist you in identifying the next steps forward, and provide you with a written report.
